Not even super-star celebrities are immune to illness. Taylor Swift, who is suffering from bronchitis at the moment, was forced to reschedule her concert dates in Charlotte and Atlanta for the fall. Her doctor advised her not to perform at all this week or it could worsen her condition, which could lead to more canceled tour dates (it’s a vicious cycle). The 21-year-old country singer will resume her tour in Montreal on Thursday, July 14. Swift famously hates to disappoint her beloved fans and laments, “It breaks my heart to miss out on this weekend’s shows with my friends in Charlotte and Atlanta…I would never cancel if I thought I was physically able to perform these shows.” She also assures fans that she and her crew will be coming back through those towns in order to makeup the postponed shows.
Until her illness hit, Swift was on a 98-show, 17-country tour (no wonder she got sick — she’s exhausted) in support of her latest album, Speak Now, which sold more than 1 million copies its first week. I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say: Don’t worry Taylor, get better because your fans aren’t going anywhere.
