Serious Director Terrence Malick and Serious Actor Christian Bale worked together in 2005’s The New World, and everyone survived. Apparently, they are willing to tempt fate by collaborating again.
Malick, who released the Brad Pitt-starring Tree of Life earlier this summer and is currently finishing work on an untitled drama starring Ben Affleck and Rachel McAdams, is reportedly lining up yet another project, billed as an intimate drama and being eyed by ‘It’ girls Rooney Mara and Mia Wasikowska. It would start shooting early next year, and that’s probably as much as we’ll know about it until the reviews start trickling in a couple years down the road.
The sudden burst of prolific activity would be quite the change for the notoriously slow-moving director, who made just four movies between 1973 and 2010. Four!
