Teyana Taylor Named Maxim’s First Black “Sexiest Woman Alive”

Hey Hollywooders! It’s #HollyGOOD Tuesday so you know what that means! We get to explore the wonderful world of Hollywood. We usually cover Hollywood history or iconic award show moments, but this week we decided to mix it up.

Singer Teyana Taylor is at the top of Maxim’s Sexist Woman Alive list, out of 100 celebrities. This is the first time a Black woman has been named “Sexist Woman Alive.” The multi-talented Hollywood celebrity is not only a singer, but a director, actress, and choreographer.

Who is Teyana Taylor?

In the article Teyana Taylor talks all about her life and career since choreographing Beyonce’s music video “Ring the Alarm” at just 15! She went on to collaborate with Jay-Z, Kanye West, and other celebrities in a variety of different outlets from choreographing to composing. Teyana can do it all!

At just 30 years old, she isn’t your average Hollywood celebrity. She acts and directs, as she continues to evolve. Plus, she has her own reality show called We Got Love Iman & Teyana on E! showcasing her life as a mom of two.

Teyana Taylor shares her excitement on Instagram

As the news came out, Teyana Taylor took to Instagram to share excitement about the Maxim cover writing, “Somebody pinch me!!!!” She went on to say:

“Living up to [the] name and title of this shoot wholeheartedly made me nervous. As a entrepreneur, wife, a busy mother of two & working behind the lens in my director bag I tend to hide behind my sweats & vintage tees, My ‘Spike Tey; glasses, and whatever hairstyle I’ve mustered up that day under my @theauntiesinc snapback!”

Teyana Taylor revealed that this photoshoot was shot in her everyday look with no hair and make up — no special wardrobe!. Can you believe that Teyana looks like this on the daily?

Photographer Gilles Bensimon told Teyana Taylor “let’s shoot! I want you to stay in this…” when she arrived according to her Instagram post. Taken aback, she agreed to it, but only if her baby hairs were done. She wore her sweats and a skull and even went with missing lashes.

In disbelief that the “Sexist Woman Alive” cover was going to be such a natural shoot, Tenaya shared a quote from Aubrey Hepburn:

“The beauty of a woman is not in facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years.”

Teyana reminded everyone to “embrace and love yourselves for who & what you are because only the purest heart shines through.”

Teyana joined Jennifer Lopez, Megan Thee Stallion, Irina Shayk, amongst others. You can check out all of Hollywood’s hotties in Maxim’s 2021 Hot 100 Women of Influence.
