The Chieftains star Sean Potts dead at 83

Irish folk star Sean Potts has died, aged 83. A founding member of The Chieftains, Potts passed away on Tuesday (11Feb14).
He was primarily a whistle player, although he also played the bodhran. He performed with The Chieftains from 1968 to 1979, when the stresses of life in the spotlight forced him to quit the band and retire from professional music.
He became a radio presenter and a regular on Ireland’s folk festival scene.
