The Daily Shuffle: Kat Von D Leaves Interview After Jesse James is Mentioned

kat von dKat Von D was supposed to appear on Good Day L.A. yesterday morning, but apparently Kat left the studio because before she was to be interviewed, the station ran the clip of Kat getting a tattoo of Jesse James that TLC released to the public. Kat later tweeted, “Dear GoodDayLA, thanks for the waste of a perfectly good morning. Lack of compassion n respect for eachother [sic] never fails to dissapoint [sic] me.” But she gave TMZ a more comprehensive explanation of what happened, and she said she agreed to answer a question about her breakup from Jesse James if the network promised that the reporter wouldn’t mention it in his introduction to the segment. Kat said her request was denied and the reporter read a statement that brought up the split. Additionally, she said she saw on the teleprompter that the reporter was going to mention her split from Jesse James in the beginning of the interview (even though she asked him not to) and that she “very politely” told his supervisors that if the script wasn’t rewritten, she would leave. And since it wasn’t changed, she did. – TMZ, E Online

Alex Trebek tore his Achilles tendon following an incident that had him chasing a burglar down the hall of the hotel he was staying at. Trebeck showed up at the National Geographic World Championship (?) at Google headquarters on crutches, and told the audience “I’m going to start today with an answer to a question that I suspect is on many of your minds. The answer is at 2:30 yesterday morning, chasing a burglar down the hall at my San Francisco hotel.” He said on Tuesday morning, he woke up because there was some weird woman in his room and Trebek chased her down the hall until his heel gave out from under him. He called police and then the suspect was arrested, and most of what she took was retrieved. Trebek is scheduled to have surgery on Friday and he’ll wear a cast for six weeks. But the weird part was he told reporters that before he chased the woman out of his room, he had to put on his underpants. – ABC

Joe Pesci is suing the producers behind the Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father movie, after they said he’d make $3 million for gaining 30 pounds to play the role of Gotti’s right hand man, but then swiped the rug out form under him and told him he would actually be playing a smaller role for $1 million. Marc Fiore, CEO of Fiore Films, denied Pesci’s accusations and said “before we had a deal, Mr. Pesci walked away.” – Ok
