Karina Smirnoff of Dancing with the Stars will appear in the May issue of Playboy. Hugh Hefner says we’ll be able to see her “on the cover and nude inside.” A DWTS staffer told Rob Shuter of PopEater, “If Karina posed naked, she can kiss her dancing days goodbye. I hope for Karina’s sake that this isn’t true.” ABC’s position on the matter is also one of distaste — they believe Karina’s appearance in the magazine would “soil” the “wholesome” show’s image. An ABC source said, “ABC publicity department controls the image of this show with an iron fist. It’s a cash cow and they are not going to allow its reputation to be soiled by a dancer who wants to do Playboy.” – PopEater
