The Shins replace Mariah Carey at the top of U.S. holiday retail song chart

Mariah Carey’s evergreen holiday tune All I Want For Christmas is You is no longer a top pick among U.S. store bosses.
Bosses at PlayNetwork, a company which creates playlists for more than 400 stores in America, have revealed Mariah’s 1994 tune has been toppled as a retailers’ number one by The Shins’ cover of Paul McCartney’s Wonderful Christmastime.
Carey’s song, which has topped the list for years, falls to two, while Christina Aguilera’s Christmas Time is at three, and the Waitresses’ Christmas Wrapping and Someday at Christmas by Jack Johnson round out the top five tunes shoppers will be listening to as they hunt for holiday bargains.
