Every little girl in the ’90s used to jump up and down on their bed and pretend to be in the Spice Girls. It’s basically a fact. Admit it — your friends totally argued about which one of you would get to be Posh Spice, because there can only be one.
Your childhood dreams are just about to come true — Posh Spice and Sporty Spice are ready to pass on their Spice Girls crown, and you could be the newest Spice sister! The three remaining ladies are officially looking for two new members and using a BBC talent show to find them.
Mel C. (Sporty Spice) originally dropped out of the Spice Girls reunion when she said she’d only join in if all five members were participating. Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) is obviously busy slaying the fashion game, so that leaves Geri Horner, Mel B and Emma Bunton, dubbed the Spice Girls GEM.
With the okay of Posh and Sporty, the remaining three girls have take the reigns to fill the gaps of their former sisters. According to The Mirror, the trio are using a talent show to help them find two new singers to perform with in a concert at Hyde Park. The show will honor the 21st anniversary of “Wannabe.” According to the publication, several rounds of auditions are set to become a week’s worth of live shows in April.
Basically, every ’90s girl was born for this. Would we even need to practice? I’m pretty sure all of us know every single word.
This news comes after Mel B got us all excited and confirmed that a reunion was in the works while on The Late Late Show With James Corden.
Praise the ’90s nostalgia Gods! Dreams really do come true.
