The former Dharma & Greg star ran into trouble in the early hours of Sunday morning (06Jan13) when he attempted to drive through a part of downtown Los Angeles that had been sectioned off for a half marathon running race.
Police officers pulled over his car and asked the actor to take a breathalyser test, which he allegedly refused, according to TMZ.com.
Gibson was then arrested on suspicion of misdemeanour DUI and taken into custody at shortly after 1.30am (local time).

His bail was set at $15,000 (£9,300) and he remained in custody as WENN went to press.
