Tim Commerford features his spinal surgery in new video

Former RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE star TIM COMMERFORD has shared gory video footage of his back operation in a shocking new music video.
The bassist, who now plays with the band Future User, underwent spinal surgery to fix a ruptured disc and he has featured clips of doctors working on his back in the promo for the group’s new song, Voodoo Juju.
Commerford hopes the graphic video will highlight the problems facing Americans who cannot afford health insurance.
He says, “I got the idea for the video after I ruptured a disc in my back and needed emergency surgery. As someone who often goes under the knife, I’ve always been a bit overwhelmed by the process, paperwork, approvals and costs. Luckily, I have insurance, but it got me thinking about all the people in this country who can’t afford medical treatment. I read an article recently that said there are over 40 million uninsured people living in the States, which is insane.”
The rocker, who also played in Chris Cornell’s supergroup Audioslave, previously shocked fans by using his own blood to make a limited edition vinyl pressing of Future User’s debut album, #SteroidsOrHeroin, for Record Store Day 2015.
