Actors like working with their spouses, but when it happens they tend to turn the tables. Instead of acting as lovers they tend to act as two characters who hate each other. I guess a thin line between love and hate is true. So which actors were married to a co-star their character hated? Scroll down to find out!
1. Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt in Friends
In “The One with the Rumor” Brad Pitt guest stars as a character named Will. He used to be fat and mistreated by Aniston’s character so he gives her crap for it on Thanksgiving. The two of course were actually married at the time but got divorced in 2005.
2. Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman in Parks & Recreation
Mullally joined the Parks & Rec as Tammy, Ron’s ex-wife. They had a very passionate relationship, so when they hate each other they really go for the throat, but when they love each other they are so blissfully happy. In real life they have been married since 2003.
3. Charlie Day and Mary Elizabeth Ellis in Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Ellis plays a waitress who Charlie is obsessed with, but she is just not having it. She pretty much sleeps with everyone he knows but him. In real life the two have been married since 2006.
4. Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson in Always Sunny In Philadelphia
This show actually does this twice. These two portray the characters Mac and Sweet Dee and they don’t ever see eye to eye but in real life they have been married since 2008 and have two young kids.
5. Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor in Dodgeball
Giphy/Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation
There is a scene where Stiller hits on Taylor’s character and she is really not feeling it. She is so disgusted by it that she has an involuntary reaction, but in real life they have been hitched since 2000.
6. Sylvester Stallone and Bridgitte Nielsen in Rocky IV
In the movie Nielsen plays Ludmilla, the wife of Drago – the guy Rocky has to fight. But in real life she would have more likely cheered for Stallone since the two were married from 1985 to 1987.
7. John Slattery and Talia Balsam in Mad Men
The two may play ex-spouses after Roger left Mona for a much younger woman. In real life the two have been married since 1998, so thankfully Slattery is nothing like Roger.
8. Adam Brody and Leighton Meester in Life Partners
In this movie Leighton plays a lesbian whose best friend (Gillian Jacobs) falls in love with a guy (Adam Brody). This drives a wedge into their relationship and Leighton doesn’t take so kindly to him. But in real life they make a cute couple and got married in 2014.
9. Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof in Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Alexis played a rival watcher, which Willow couldn’t stand. But in real life the two have been married since 2003 and have a cute family.
