Was simultaneously working on a construction set during the filming of "Golden Voyage of Sinbad" to make ends meet.

Appearing in the title role for seven seasons, Baker is still the longest serving Doctor to have ever played the title character on "Doctor Who."

The comically long wool scarf he sported as the Doctor was initially done on accident, but viewers loved it enough for Baker to incorporate the scarf into the show.

Was considered for the role of Gandalf in "The Lord of the Rings" but turned it down because he didn't want to spend a year shooting the film in New Zealand.
