Tracy Morgan Talks to Gay Teens in New York

tracy morganFollowing his apology for going on a homophobic rant during a stand up gig in Tennessee, Tracy Morgan visited with some homeless homosexual teens and victims of anti-gay violence in New York yesterday as a means of really showing he’s sorry for his statements and that he’s working to understand how there’s really nothing funny about a teenager telling his parents that he’s gay. GLAAD (The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) organized the meeting between Morgan and the teens, some of whom had been kicked out of their homes by their families after learning they were gay. Two teenagers, Jayden Love and Raciel Castillo, said of the meeting, “We really appreciate that we were able to meet with Tracy Morgan…We hope that our stories have the power to change not only Tracy’s perspective, but those of any parent who may be struggling with accepting their child.” Next week, Tracy will travel back to Tennessee to apologize to the people who were offended by the comments he made about how if his son came out to him, he would stab him. He will also have meetings with the Tennessee Equality Project.
