Update: Lohan’s rep, Steve Honig, confirmed for Hollywood.com, “The police dropped the charges.” According to E! Online, this decision was made after NYPD investigators determined that no crime was committed. Lohan’s camp is not pleased with this development. Honig told E!, “It’s both distressing and outrageous…and there should be a consequence for that.”
Earlier: After an evening of revelry at Manhattan hotspot 1 OAK, Lindsay Lohan ended up in a bit of a kerfuffle.
What happened was allegedly this: police officials told WNBC that Lohan began arguing with alleged assailant Christian LaBella in her W Hotel room in Union Square when he refused to delete photographs on his cell phone of which Lohan did not approve. Shortly after, is it alleged that LaBella threw Lohan on the bed–leaving scratches on her hands after Lohan attempted to take his phone around 4:30AM.
LaBella’s initial charges included assault and harassment, but police dropped the assault charge upon further investigation. LaBella has since filed a harassment complaint against Lohan.
Confirming the event to Hollywood.com, her publicist stated that “Lindsay was assaulted early this morning in a New York hotel. While she did sustain some injuries, she was not hospitalized. The assailant was arrested and is currently in police custody. Lindsay has spoken with police and is fully cooperating with the investigation.”
It seems as though heading to New York to escape the hullabaloo of Los Angeles hasn’t worked in Lohan’s favor: earlier this month she was arrested for allegedly hitting a pedestrian with her car and fleeing the scene, as well as a brief trip to the hospital for an asthma-related issue.
