Biography

Van Williams was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Williams's career began with roles in "Bourbon Street Beat" (1959-1960), "Surfside 6" (ABC, 1960-62) and "Batman" (ABC, 1965-68). He also appeared in "The Green Hornet" (ABC, 1966-67). He also acted in various movies at the time, including "Tall Story" (1960) with Anthony Perkins and the dramatic adaptation "The Caretakers" (1963) with Robert Stack. He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "Colorado C.I." (CBS, 1977-78) and "You Gotta Start Somewhere" (CBS, 1977-78). He also starred in the TV movies "The Runaways" (CBS, 1974-75) and "The Night Rider" (ABC, 1978-79). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "The Westwind" (NBC, 1975-76). Williams had a number of different projects under his belt in the nineties, including "Haunted Lives... True Ghost Stories" (CBS, 1990-91), "Count on Me" (PBS, 1993-94) and "Dragon: the Bruce Lee Story" (1993) starring Jason Scott Lee. His credits also expanded to "The Kennedy Center Honors: A Celebration of the Performing Arts" (CBS, 1994-95), "Real Ghosts II" (UPN, 1995-96) and "Bruce Lee: The Immortal Dragon" (1996-97). Williams most recently appeared on "The Prosecutors: In Pursuit of Justice" (2000-02).
