Biography

Vernon Rich was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. In his early acting career, Rich appeared in such films as the Cary Grant comedy "Dream Wife" (1953), the Gene Barry sci-fi feature "The War of the Worlds" (1953) and the Tony Curtis action flick "Johnny Dark" (1954). He also appeared in "I'll Cry Tomorrow" (1955) with Susan Hayward. He kept working in film throughout the fifties, starring in "Strategic Air Command" (1955) with James Stewart, the adaptation "Tall Man Riding" (1955) with Randolph Scott and the horror flick "Tarantula" (1955) with John Agar. He also appeared in the Fred MacMurray adaptation "The Far Horizons" (1955). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the historical film "The Scarlet Coat" (1955) with Cornel Wilde, "Loving You" (1957) with Elvis Presley and "Ten North Frederick" (1958). He also appeared in the comedy "The Perfect Furlough" (1958) with Tony Curtis. Rich last acted in "One Man's Way" (1964). Rich passed away in February 1978 at the age of 72.
