Indian actor Vinay Apte has died at the age of 62. The film and television star passed away on Saturday (07Dec13).
Reacting to the sad news on Twitter.com, director Madhur Bhandarkar wrote, “Shocked & shattered to know (sic) about d (sic) untimely demise of Vinay Apte. Vinay had worked with me in Chandni Bar, Corporate & Traffic Signal…”
He added, “A brilliant character actor, Vinay will be missed. Truly shocking. May his soul rest in peace.”
Apte began his career in Marathi theatre in 1974.
In addition to his stage work, he starred in over 40 films and TV shows including Jogwa, Aarakshan and Adaalat.
