Biography

"Army Wives"actress Wendy Davis attended Howard University, earning a degree in theater before moving to Los Angeles to pursue her career. In 1991, she appeared as a recurring character on the sitcom "The New WKRP in Cincinnati" and also made guest appearances on the comedy shows "Martin" and "Coach" before Steven Spielberg himself chose her to play a cop's widow on the DreamWorks series "High Incident." Around the same time, Davis played a detective in the pilot for the series "EZ Streets" and made guest appearances on the vampire cult show "Angel" and the medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" before winning the part of Joan Burton on the Lifetime original series "Army Wives," which details the struggles of women attached to men who serve in the military. In her spare time, Davis gives back to the acting community by teaching classes for novice actors at the Los Angeles Actors Center.
