Biography

William Fawcett was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Fawcett began his acting career appearing in various films, such as "Black Hills" (1947), the Eddie Dean western "Check Your Guns" (1948) and "Adventures of Sir Galahad" (1949) with George Reeves. He also appeared in "Roll, Thunder, Roll" (1949), the western "The Longhorn" (1951) with Billy Elliott and the comedy "The Mating Season" (1951) with Gene Tierney. His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like "The Homesteaders" (1953) with Billy Elliott, the crime flick "Alaska Seas" (1954) with Robert Ryan and "Gang-Busters" (1955). He also appeared in the comedy "The First Traveling Saleslady" (1956) with Ginger Rogers. In the latter part of his career, he tackled roles in "Saintly Sinners" (1962), "The Music Man" (1962) with Robert Preston and the Tony Curtis dramatic adaptation "Sex and the Single Girl" (1964). He also appeared in "King Rat" (1965) and the John Lupton horror movie "Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter" (1966). Fawcett was most recently credited in "Captain Video" (2005). Fawcett passed away in January 1974 at the age of 80.
