William Preston was an accomplished actor who led an impressive career, primarily on the big screen. He had a part on the television special "The Haunted Mansion Mystery" (1982-83). He also appeared in the TV movie "Lady in a Corner" (1989-1990). Preston worked in television around the start of his acting career with a role on "The Cop and the Kid" (1975-76). He then appeared in the horror sequel "William Peter Blatty's The Exorcist III" (1990) with George C Scott, "The Fisher King" (1991) with Robin Williams and "Far and Away" (1992). He also appeared in the Elizabeth McGovern drama "Me & Veronica" (1993), the adaptation sequel "It Runs in the Family" (1994) with Charles Grodin and the Kevin Costner action movie "Waterworld" (1995). He spent the nineties tackling film roles in "I'm Not Rappaport" (1996), the Daniel Day-Lewis dramatic adaptation "The Crucible" (1996) and the comedy "The Hotel Manor Inn" (1997) with John Randolph. He also was featured in the TV movie "Destination Anywhere" (1996-97). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Spin City" (1996-2002). Most recently, Preston acted in "Illuminata" (1999) with Leo Bassi.
