Biography

Zelda Sears worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Sears worked on a variety of projects during her early entertainment career, including "Rubber Tires" (1927), "The Clinging Vine" (1926) and "The Rush Hour" (1927). She continued her focus on film through the thirties, penning the scripts for the Marie Dressler comedy "Politics" (1931), "Beauty For Sale" (1933) and the action flick "Operator 13" (1933) with Marion Davies. Sears stretched her reach in the entertainment industry in "The Bishop Murder Case" (1930), "The Divorcee" (1930) with Norma Shearer, and "Inspiration" (1931) by taking on an acting role in addition to screenwriting. Sears last wrote the Marie Dressler dramedy "Tugboat Annie" (1933).
