Zendaya suffered an awkward fan encounter over the weekend (December 28-29, 2019) when a woman thought she appeared in hit Netflix show 13 Reasons Why.
The incident occurred when a fan’s mum spotted the actress while out and about in Oakland, California, and approached the star for a selfie together.
She proceeded to film the meeting, but was left red-faced when she made a massive blunder.
In the selfie video including herself and Zendaya, which the son of the woman posted on his @HoodieJello0_ Twitter feed, she said: “My son ain’t gonna believe this… It’s your girl from the show, 13 Reasons.”
“Oh, I’m not on that show… I’m on Euphoria, darling,” Zendaya replied with a laugh.
Sharing the clip online, the fan named Jordan wrote: “Bruh, my mom saw Zendaya in Oakland and… bruh, I’m weak.”
The post has since gained more than half a million likes on Twitter and over 100,000 retweets.
