Actor Bruce Greenwood has been cast as Abigail Breslin’s father in the Dirty Dancing TV revamp.
The Star Trek star will play heart surgeon Dr. Jake Houseman, who was portrayed in the 1987 film by late actor Jerry Orbach. He lost his battle with cancer in 2004.
Bruce joins a star-studded cast, including Breslin and newcomer Colt Prattes in the roles originated by Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze respectively, for the project, which will also feature Nicole Scherzinger, Sarah Hyland, and Debra Messing.
A premiere date for the project has yet to be announced
