Chris Perez pays tribute to late wife Selena Quintanilla

Guitarist Chris Perez honoured his late wife Selena Quintanilla by paying tribute to the Tejano star on social media on the 23rd anniversary of her death.
The Mexican-American singer was murdered by her fanclub president Yolanda Saldivar on 31 March, 1995 and on Saturday (31Mar18), the guitarist took to Instagram to celebrate her life and their love.
“Although we all have our trials and tribulations that we have to go through in this life…we MUST be thankful for the ones that we meet along the way…that made us realize…love is REAL…love is UNCONDITIONAL…love NEVER DIES,” he wrote alongside a picture of the couple. “#MyCoco.”
Selena’s brother and sister, A.B. and Suzette Quintanilla, also remembered their sibling on social media over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Perez has been active in keeping Selena’s legacy alive and in 2012 he wrote To Selena, With Love, a book about their romance and marriage. He is also currently locked in a legal battle with his former father-in-law, Abraham Quintanilla Jr., over the guitarist’s planned TV show, which will be inspired by the book.
