Ginger Baker cancels tour due to heart problems

Former Cream drummer Ginger Baker has cancelled all planned tour dates due to medical issues.
The 76-year-old is suffering from heart problems and it seems his time on the road with his band Air Force is over permanently.
“just seen doctor…,” Baker writes on his website. “big shock…. no more gigs for this old drummer…. everything is off…. of all things i never thought it would be my heart…..”
Baker last performed in London in January (16). He was slated to head back out on the road again in the U.K. in April (16).
The rocker has been suffering from health problems for several years and in 2013, he opened up about his medical issues telling RollingStone.com, “It’s troubling. At the end of the gig I’m absolutely exhausted. I’ve got degenerative osteoarthritis, which is extremely painful and I’m on a regiment with a health service pain management control. Apart from that I’ve got COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) from smoking.”
Baker has since given up his nicotine habit.
