Jason Gann bids to reduce assault damages

Actor JASON GANN has launched a court battle to reduce the amount of compensation he has to pay to a bus driver he attacked in a drunken rage.
The Wilfred star was ordered to hand over more than $300,000 (£187,500) in damages to Joseph Hosny in 2012 after they clashed over a seat on a coach at an Australian racecourse.
Gann had pleaded guilty to unlawful assault over the 2007 incident, but he is now seeking a hearing to reduce the level of damages he must pay after Hosny was convicted of fraud in an unconnected case last year (14).
The actor’s lawyers claim it is unreasonable for Hosny “to take advantage of his fraud” and accuse him of knowingly giving false evidence at Gann’s trial, according to Australia’s Herald Sun newspaper.
