Lesley Gore died a month after cancer diagnosis

Singer LESLEY GORE’s longtime partner has broken her silence about the star’s recent death, revealing the IT’S MY PARTY hitmaker’s cancer battle was very short.
Gore passed away on 16 February (15), a month after she was diagnosed with lung cancer, and now Lois Sasson – her partner of 33 years – has opened up about the singer’s last days.
She tells Closer magazine, “It was pretty fast. She had a pain in her back, she went for an MRI and we found this horrible tumor on her spine.”
And Sasson reveals her partner was “writing the story of her life” for a new stage show she was working on at the time of her passing.
She adds, “She would want to be remembered for the music and the play she was writing.
“She had a very rich life. She was a beautiful woman who was an icon and personified fun and lightheartedness, but she was also very serious.”
