Major Lazer deal with fame using counselling and hypnosis

Electronica supergroup Major Lazer have group counselling and hypnosis sessions to deal with the pressures of musical stardom.
The electronic dance music (EDM) collective has seen their popularity rocket over the past 18 months, with chart topping hits like Lean On and Cold Water, a collaboration with pop superstar Justin Bieber.
And in order to deal with the stress of fame, Major Lazer members Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire have turned to counselling.
“We just have counselling,” Diplo tells Britain’s Daily Star newspaper, with Jillionaire adding, “Yeah we have group therapy once a month, Skype sessions.”
As well as their regular therapy sessions, the stars also use more unconventional methods to stay focused.
“We also do hypnotism,” Diplo reveals. “We have retreats, go to sweat lodges and that. Whatever works.”
Major Lazer’s decision to address the stress of maintaining a career at the top of the pop charts comes after a number of stars have confessed to struggling with anxiety problems.
In June (16) former One Direction member Zayn Malik pulled out of a London concert due to suffering crippling problems with anxiety, and reportedly reached out to fellow British superstar Adele, who overcame similar problems earlier in her career.
Another Brit songstress who has sought help to deal with anxiety and panic attacks is Ellie Goulding, who has undergone cognitive behavioural therapy in a bid to beat her problems.
