Noah Schnapp ‘doesn’t think’ his Stranger Things character is gay

Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp believes his character Will Byers’s sexuality is “up to the audience’s interpretation”.
Fans began to question whether or not the character was gay following the third episode of season three of the hit Netflix show, after Will grew frustrated with his best friend’s budding romances.
“It’s not my fault you don’t like girls,” Mike Wheeler, played by Finn Wolfhard, yelled at Will, who wanted to play a game of Dungeons and Dragons instead of talk about their love lives.
And speaking to website The Wrap, Noah confessed it’s “up to the audience” to determine Will’s sexuality.
“When you hear Mike say that line, it’s really up to the audience to interpret it,” the 14-year-old shared. “I kind of just interpret it like he’s not ready to grow up and he doesn’t really want to move on to dating and relationships yet. He still wants to be a kid and play in the basement like he did in old times.”
Will’s sexuality has been a topic of discussion since the series began in 2016, and Noah previously addressed the rumours, writing on Instagram: “For me, Will being gay or not is besides the point.
“Does being sensitive, or a loner, or a teenager who likes photography, or a girl with red hair and big glasses, make you gay?” he continued. “I’m only 12 but I do know we all relate to being different.”
