Pussycat Dolls’ Melody Thornton confirmed for U.K. skating show

Pussycat Dolls star Melody Thornton will compete in the 2019 series of U.K. reality show Dancing On Ice.
The singer, who was in the group from 2003 to 2009, announced she was a contestant in a video message on Thursday’s (04Oct18) edition of U.K. show Good Morning Britain.
“Hi guys, it’s Melody Thornton from Pussycat Dolls. And I guess the cat’s out of the bag. I’m so excited,” she said in the video. “I’m going to be on the 2019 cast of Dancing On Ice. I can’t wait to see you and I can’t wait to do some skating for you! Love you.”
The Twitter account for the show also confirmed the news, writing, “Bet this Pussycat can’t wait to get her claws into the ice (cat emoji). Welcome to the #DancingOnIce family, @MelodyThornton!”
The 34-year-old is no stranger to appearances on U.K. reality shows following stints on Celebs Go Dating and Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls last year (17). She is also the second Pussycat Doll to appear on a dancing show this winter, as her former bandmate Ashley Roberts is currently competing in Strictly Come Dancing.
Melody will be joined by British reality TV star Gemma Collins, former Westlife singer Brian McFadden, TV personality Saira Khan, former Strictly professional James Jordan, actor Richard Blackwood and cricketer Ryan Sidebottom.
Dancing on Ice returns in January 2019.
