Sam Riley asked director to sacrifice his son for truck stunt

British actor Sam Riley made Free Fire director Ben Wheatley put his son in harm’s way before he agreed to do a truck stunt in the film.
The Control star was nervous about a scene in the period gangland drama, in which a truck runs over his character Stevo, and he asked his director to perform the stunt first, so he knew he’d be safe.
“I said to Ben, ‘You’ll do it first, won’t you?'” Sam recalls. “He said, ‘The bumper won’t go over my gut’. I said, ‘Yeah, that’s a good excuse. What about your boy?’
“He looked at me and said, ‘Are you asking me to run over my own son? Are you that much of a p**sy?’ He did do it.”
