A prolific producer and onetime head of marketing and publicity for studio giant 20th Century Fox, Jack Brodsky frequently alternated between publicity and production, serving the later duties on such movies as Romancing the Stone (1984) and Daddy Day Care (2003). A New York native who got his start as a journalist for The New York Times, Brodsky would soon turn to work as a publicist for the Big Apple branch of FOX before taking over as head of marketing and PR a decade later. Pictures Brodsky helped to publicize include Funny Girl (1968) and Cleopatra (1963), an experience that eventually resulted in his publishing of the book The Cleopatra Papers. In February 2003, Jack Brodsky died in his sleep in Sherman Oaks, CA. He was 69.
