Sad-faced American leading lady Dimitra Arliss was prominently featured in several New York and Broadway stage productions of the 1960s and 1970s. Among her stage credits was Arthur Kopit's Indians, in which she played a Native American with an Italian accent. She has been seen in numerous TV character roles, notably Marie Falconetti in the 1976 miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man. Dimitra Arliss' most famous film role was as the amorous "hit lady" in The Sting (1973).
