Actress Montserrat Carulla enjoyed a lengthy screen career in her native Spain that witnessed her essaying a broad array of roles from the early '60s through the 2000s. Carulla tackled two pronounced international crossover roles in her septuagenarian years, with supporting contributions to Peruvian director Francisco José Lombardi's political thriller Black Butterfly (2006) and Juan Antonio Bayona's supernatural horror outing The Orphanage (2007).
