Director Joseph Green's claim to fame will be his 1959 cult horror film The Brain That Wouldn't Die, which has oftentimes been described as one of the worst films of that particular genre. A native of Baltimore, Green studied at the University of Maryland prior to active service in the Army. After leaving the military, he started his professional career as a television producer and soon penned and directed his first film, the aforementioned cult classic. Around 1970, he founded Joseph Green Productions, which distributed foreign films in the U.S. In 1999, he died from liver failure at the age of 71.
