A busy supporting comic in Mack Sennett and Al Christie two-reelers of the 1920s, heavyweight Marvin Loback appeared opposite such clowns as cross-eyed Ben Turpin and the urbane Neal Burns. Loback was later teamed with diminutive Snub Pollard in an obvious attempt to duplicate the success of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, but the comedies, produced by the low-budget Weiss Bros-Artclass combine, remained ersatz all the way and were not popular.
