A former screen actor (The Girl Philippa [1916]), New York-born Alfred Raboch later became an assistant to director Fred Niblo on the gigantic filming of Ben-Hur (1925). In his own right, Raboch directed mostly low-budget programmers, notably Green Grass Widows (1928), which starred golf pro Walter Hagen, and in the sound era, two Westerns produced by and starring Buck Jones: Rocky Rhodes (1934) and The Crimson Trail (1935). Raboch later worked as an assistant director at MGM.
