In Hollywood features, actor Dieter Schidor usually played German soldiers in war dramas such as Sam Peckinpah's Cross of Iron. He has also appeared in a pair of Fassbinder films, including the director's last film, Querelle (1983), which Schidor also produced. In 1985, Schidor wrote the screenplay for and directed the crime drama Kalt in Kolumbien.
