A juvenile lead with the Martin Stock Company in the early 1910s, Brooklyn-born Tenny Wright (born Tennant C. Wright) entered films in 1918 as an actor but quickly became an assistant to early craftsman Paul Scardon. He worked mainly as an assistant director in the 1920s but later helmed several low-budget Westerns on his own, including two early John Wayne oaters: The Big....

He worked mainly as an assistant director in the 1920s but later helmed several low-budget Westerns on his own, including two early John Wayne oaters: The Big Stampede (1932) and The Telegraph Trail (1933). Wright went on to become a busy production manager, working mainly on Poverty Row.
