Decorated former WWII U.S. Naval pilot Jim Young started out in the entertainment industry on the radio. He made his acting debut in the 1951 horror classic The Thing. From there he acted on Broadway and then began directing plays. Young was an original producer on the long-running daily serial General Hospital and from 1976 through 1984 served as a director for the show.
