Belgian filmmaker Jean-Claude Tramont was only able to make a few films before succumbing to cancer on December 27, 1996. He started out writing the script for the Elizabeth Taylor/Henry Fonda vehicle Ash Wednesday (1973). He directed his first film, Le Point de Mire four years later. Tramont's final film, made for HBO cable, As Summers Die (1986) featured Bette Davis and Jamie Lee Curtis.
