In film, Rapp signed to MGM and created scripts for a number of memorable musicals, including a few for Danny Kaye such as The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (1947) and The Wonder Man (1945). Rapp added movie directing to his talents when he took over writing and directing chores for the Topper television series.
