Statuesque, with a firm, determined, yet highly-attractive allure, Alexandra Paul was modeling when she was 16, and at 18, decided to forego college and come to Hollywood, where she won her first role as a teen model in the TV-movie version of "Paper Dolls" (ABC, 1980). Although best known today as Stephanie Holden, the tough and ambitious boss of David Hasselhoff on the internationally-syndicated TV lifeguard series "Baywatch" (1992-96), Paul has also acted in numerous other TV projects. She was an actress who begins body building and finds it changes her life in "Getting Physical" (1984), her first leading role in a TV-movie, and she appeared in three NBC "Perry Mason" two-hour installments in 1989 playing Amy Hastings, who added spice and sexual tension for William R. Moses behind the scenes. Additionally, Paul starred in "Alistair MacLean's Nightwatch" (1995) the first TV-movie produced under the USA Network's own banner, in which she was a member of a United Nations anti-crime organization working to track down stolen paintings. In 1996, Paul left "Baywatch".

On the big screen, Paul first appeared in the independent "American Nightmare" (1982), but considers her role as a ski-loving counterpart to Kristy McNichol in "Just the Way You Are" (1984) as her screen debut, although her turn in "Christine" as the comely young teen in competition with a devil-incarnate car, was released in 1983. She has also co-starred opposite Kevin Costner in "American Flyer" (1985), in "Dragnet" (1987), and more recently starred in "The Paperboy" (1994), as a woman who moves back to her hometown and discovers the boy next door is a murderer.
