Like his small-screen
Sex and the City
alter ego, the never-married Noth is a notorious ladies' man who has dated Winona Ryder, model Beverly Johnson and starlet Tara Wilson (whom he met while she worked at his New York City-based nightclub The Cutting Room). The son of CBS television reporter Jeanne Parr, the intense-eyed actor received an MFA from Yale's School of Drama but didn't hit it big until his mid-thirties when he played the role of a volatile detective on
Law & Order
for five seasons. After
Sex and the City
turned him into a sex symbol, Noth reprised his
L&O
character in both a 1998 TV-movie and
Law & Order: Criminal Intent
starting in 2005.
