One of America's top 100 chess players in his age group, this precocious 8-year-old made his acting debut as the lead of "Searching for Bobby Fischer", based on the childhood of chess master Josh Waitzkin. Max Pomeranc (pronounced "Pomerantz") proved an ideal casting choice because of his innocent yet intelligent look, excellent concentration and his formidable knowledge of the game. His portrayal has been hailed as one of the most outstanding juvenile performances in recent years.
