Karras made his TV-movie debut in the period Western "Hardcase" (ABC, 1972) and portrayed gentle hillbilly weight lifter Hughie Rae Feather in "The 500-Pond Jerk" (CBS, 1973) before hooking up with future wife Susan Clark in the CBS movie "Babe" (1975), playing George Zaharis to her Babe Didrickson. Together they would form Georgian Bay Productions in 1978 and executive produce the CBS movies "Jimmy B & Andre" (1980), "Word of Honor" (1981) and "Maid in America" (1982), Karras starring in two and making an unbilled cameo in the other. He achieved his highest TV profile opposite Clark (and moppet Emanuel Lewis) in "Webster" (ABC, 1983-87), but since that series' demise he has limited his appearances to the occasional TV-movie ("Fudge-A-Mania" ABC, 1995) and guest spots on series like "Civil Wars" (ABC), "The Ben Stiller Show" (Fox), "Tracey Takes On ..." (HBO) and "The Tom Show" (The WB).
