Fans of the long-running ABC soap opera All My Children will immediately recognize actress Frances Heflin for having played Mona Kane, the ever-patient mother of vixen Erica Kane. The Emmy-wining Heflin played the role from the show's inception in 1970 through her death in 1994. The sister of late movie star Van Heflin, she started out on stage. Her other television credits include a role on The House on High Street (1959). She appeared twice in feature films. She was married to composer Sol Kaplan. Her daughter, Nora Heflin, also became an actress.
