Before joining the film industry, American author Harry Kurnitz was a reporter. He came to Hollywood in 1938 to help adapt his story Fast Company. Kurnitz then stayed to collaborate on dozens of screenplays. In addition to film writing, he published novels; for his detective thrillers, and some of his scripts, he used the pen-name Marco Page.
