Starting out as a teenaged assistant, he became a lighting cameraman in 1933 and full director of photography in the '40s. In this capacity, he shot over 170 features within a three decade period.
During his years at 20th Century-Fox, it was Krasner's task to make the cumbersome CinemaScope artistically palatable. That Milton Krasner succeeded in this was proven by his Academy Award for Three Coins in the Fountain (1954), and his nomination for An Affair to Remember (1957).
