French screenwriter and filmmaker Michel Audiard co-wrote over one hundred films during the '50s and '60s. He was noted for his snappy dialogue. Prior to working in the film industry, he was an optician, bicycle racer, a journalist, and a novelist. He began writing movie scripts in the late 1940s, made his directorial debut in the late '60s, and went on to make many films, noted especially for their biting humor.
